Doda markets flooded with customers ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr BY ABID PAMPORI Doda, June 24: Doda town is witnessing huge rush of shoppers as the Muslims are preparing to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr, marking the end of holiest month of Ramzan during which followers are required to abstain from food, end of month of fasting, in next week. Just days to go before the Eid celebrations begin preparations to celebrate the religious event are in full swing throughout the district. As per details, a large number of people from the town and outskirts of district Doda thronged markets to give last touch to their preparations of Eid-ul-Fitr, as it is approaching with all its attractions. It is observed that the shopping spree peaked during the last weekend of Ramzan as children and women remained busy in buying their accessories matching with their Eid dresses including shoes, jewelries etc. The Markets seemed crowded as majority of the people visit markets sparing time from their daily routine.

Market inspection Conducted at Doda BY ABID PAMPORI  Doda:: On the directions of  Deputy Commissioner Doda , Sh Bhupinder Kumar , IAS , a market inspection was conducted by a team led by Sh. Nasir Ali Natnoo Tehsildar Doda to take out the stock of situation and review the arrangements for celebration of Eid_ul_fitr. The inspection was carried out in the market from Old Bus Stand Doda to Nehru Chowk and Bharat road , Old bus stand , new Bus stand and other markets of the town. Besides Tehsildar Doda, food safety officer, employee s of    MC Doda , TSO Doda  and other officials were also accompanying the Tehsildar Doda during the inspection. A fine of RS.5600  was imposed on shopkeepers who were seen selling the substandard goods and on the rates higher than the fixed rates in the market. Student ventures in making paper bags to support family BY ABID PAMPORI Doda, June 23: A young student, Vishal Sharma a resident of Shaie village presently putting up in Doda town has become an example to be followed as he single handedly supports his family by manufacturing homemade paper bags. Vishal is a student of 12th class who earns his living by first collecting old newspapers from various places and then painstakingly prepares bags using flour glue. He has to support his mother and also take care of his younger brother. After his father went missing around six years ago, Vishal has alone supported his family and also managed marriage of his sister last year. Beside this he is pursuing his study and wants to opt for engineering. It is very difficult for him to study as well as earn livelihood by making paper bags which is very time consuming. He belongs to prominent Batt family of Doda . His father is a retired Social Welfare Officer & mother was a Teacher . His maternal grandfather Mr. Gh. Ahmed Dev , was the first MLA of Doda after Independance . He has done his graduation from The Law School , University of Jammu . Before being selected as the Assistant Professor, he was working as a Teacher . He has also taught Politics to the students of Directorate of Distance Education  ( DDE) , University of Jammu  (JU) .He has also written Lesson topics for the students of PG & UG at DDE , JU . He also had  a short stint as a High Court Lawyer & Standing Counsel to the Govt. ,working with Adv. Anil Sethi of Jammu High Court.

10+2 lecturers demands revocation of SRO-202 BY ABID PAMPORI Doda, June 15: The 10+2 Lecturers who were recently recruited by Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission have appealed authorities concerned to exempt them from applicability of rule 8 and 9 of SRO 202, which makes it binding on them to serve in far flung areas for five years. Under the rules the Lecturers are also entitled to only "Minimum Salary " during the period. It will be difficult for many to run their family on meager salary. Newly recruited Aspirants have also approached the Higher authorities for revoking of SRO 202 and they have ensured them to do the same. Poor roads, drainage system irks people in Bhadarwah town BY ABID PAMPORI Doda, June 14: Belying the tall claims of the state government of improving the basic facilities in remote areas, the people in Bhaderwah town continue to suffer because of poor road and drainage system. While talking to media, a group of locals said that the condition of roads is extremely dilapidated, even as the district has good representation in the government. They said due to bad condition the residents are facing huge hardships. Ironically, the government and administration is not paying any attention towards the dilapidated condition of the roads leaving common people to suffer. Meanwhile, the residents alleged that state government had taken over hundreds of drainage schemes , roads construction schemes in Jammu and Kashmir over the years but most of them could not be completed.

BY ABID PAMPORI Doda:: A primary school teacher has been placed under suspension for committing rape with a student of class 3rd. As per the details available one ReT teacher namely  Mohd.Ashraf Butt posted in government primary school Bathaker of Zone Gundna has been placed under suspension and attached to the office of Z E O  Gundna with immediate effect by the chief education officer Doda for committing rape with a minor girl.   The news of the teacher committing such a heinous act spread like a wild fire in the area and the locals demanded stern action against the accused. AISF supports the ongoing strike Girls Students of Bhadetwah BY ABID PAMPORI  Doda::Mukesh Parihar National Council Member J&K supports the students of Govt Higher Secondary School Girls, Bhaderwah raise voice against stunt biking by delinquent persons and teasing, take out protest rally.  It is notable to mention here that a girl received injury, when a motorcycle hit her outside the Govt Hr Sec School Girls, Bhaderwah yesterday.  Surita Devi D/o Dharam Raj a resident of village Bheja, Bhaderwah was injured when a motorcycle bearing registration number JK06-9293 hit her. The injured girl has been shifted to District Hospital, where she was undergoing treatment, when reports last came in. Concerned police has taken cognizance in this regard but failed to arrest the accused. Protesting students demanded immediate arrest of accused and security measures outside girl schools and tuition centers.
