Govt. MIDDLE SCHOOL Dewal Mohalla Without Water Facility.
BY ABID PAMPORI
Doda:: Govt M. S. Dewal School Dewal Mohalla located at a distance of 35k.m from the headquarter Doda lacks basic facility of drinking water.Four years have passed but the provision of water in the School is yet a distant dream.
Due to non availability of water the students have to go in open for toilet inspite of three washrooms available in the school. Despite the fact that there is a water reservoir /gravity line of PHE Deptt. Available nearby. The school lacks drinking water facility. It would have cost authorities a small amount in providing water from the reservoir /gravity line but they are least bothered.
The Head Master of the school said we have repeatedly requested PHE Deptt to redress the problem of drinking water in the school but PHE Deptt. turned a blind eye towards the suffering of the students. It is pertinent to mention here that the school is located at a distance of 2km from the village Dewal. It is mostly surrounded by trees and thorny bushes from all sides and there is apprehension of wild animals outside the school premises.
As per the direction of Honorable Supreme Court every school must have water supply /drinking water facility in the school premises. The concerned authorities are least bothered about the health and hygeine of thestudents in the school.
People of Dewal and adjoining villages want to bring it to the notice of the district administration and have appealed to redress this issue immediately. They warnef that if an untoward incident would happen PHE DEPTT particularly Concerned JE and supervisor would be held responsible for that because school authorities have approached these officials many times.
It is therefore request to Honorable DDC Doda to take cognizance of the matter as soon as possible so that students may not suffer any more.
