Young Educated Candidates Eager to Contest Panchayat Elections,

Doda::  After the successful completion  of the elections to  ULBs and the issuance of notification for panchayat elections  the process to  elect the representatives for  panchayats in J&K has begun.  The filing of nomination by the  contesting  candidates is going on in phased manner and many young and well educated faces are coming forward to participate in these  elections.

Despite many odds ,  women are also taking active  part in the elections of various panchyats across Chenab valley as  considerable number of seats have been reserved for women in the panchayats.

 One such example is a young and highly qualified woman candidate for sarpanch from Sazan Doda . 

 Saima Batt D/o Ghulam Mohd of Sazan falling under the jurisdiction of Bhagwah block in Doda district has filed her nomination for Sarpanch candidate from  panchayat Sazan.  Saima who is PG , B Ed. is eager to  serve the people of her native panchayat and contribute towards the upliftment of the women folk.   She is post graduate in English and Education.

    


After filing her nomination  Saima expressed full hope and  confidence that she will emerge victorious. While talking to the news agency she said that she wants to see equitable socio-cultural and economic development in the area.

 When asked what inspired her to take part in the elections , Saima replied that despite many assurances from various governments  and political leadership the picturesque health resort' Lal Draman ' has not been brought on tourism map  till date and the condition of health and education in our area is miserable. The road connectivity to Sazan and its adjoining hamlets including Lal Draman is not available. These are some of the burning issues that I want to  plead and resolve if I am given mandate by the people. ' I wish to lead and guide  the rural women  towards their empowerment'' she added.

BY ABID PAMPORI Doda::  Gazi Bashir Wani S/O Bashir Ahmed Wani ,Shakeela Begum of Ghat village in Doda district has been awarded  gold medal  at the  convocation of Kashmir University  today. He was the topper from Central University Kashmir in mathematics and got first position by securing 93 % marks in the year 2015-16. Relatives and friendshave congratulated Mr Gazi and his family on this grand success.Majid Ali waniand Naseera Akthar from Ghat have expressed joy and happiness  and conveyed their best wishes and congratulations to him.
