Schools Reopen in Chenab Valley After Winter Vacations

DODA,MAR 05---Schools in erstwhile Doda district reopened today  after over Three  months of long winter vacation.Dressed in their uniforms, the students resumed schooling today after three Months  of vacations. Schools in the Doda , Kishtwar and Ramban districts  close in December every year on the pattern of Kashmir valley  for winter vacations and reopen on March First week  .The students were eager to go to school after staying at their homes for more than 12 weeks. "I want to see my classmates, I cannot wait to reach school," Manan Wani , a primary school student, said while waiting for his school Van in Green Colony of Doda  town .The weather had mostly been dry this winter as there has been less snow and rain. At present, the temperature in  ,Doda , Ramban ,Kishtwar , Batote   is 10 degrees above the normal and is expected to rise in the coming days.During the previous years, the re-opening of schools after winter vacations would often get delayed due to the bad weather conditions. The month of February would usually be snowy and cold like Kashmir  but from the last one month , bright sunshine has replaced snowy conditions, giving the feel of early spring.

Doda Boy Gazi Bashir Wani Awarded Gold Medal By Kashmir University. BY ABID PAMPORI Doda::  Gazi Bashir Wani S/O Bashir Ahmed Wani ,Shakeela Begum of Ghat village in Doda district has been awarded  gold medal  at the  convocation of Kashmir University  today. He was the topper from Central University Kashmir in mathematics and got first position by securing 93 % marks in the year 2015-16.
