GDC Doda observes World Tuberculosis Day

Doda::The World Tuberculosis Day was observed by the Department of Zoology GDC Doda under the theme of "Wanted: Leaders for a TB-free world". The function was presided over by the Principal Dr Shafqat Hussain Rafiqi. A Symposium and a Skit were organized on this occasion.
Introductory speech was delivered by Head of the Department of Zoology Dr Ajaz Ahmed Wani. It was followed by a symposium and a skit. Around thirty students participated and highlighted the current year’s theme of "Wanted: Leaders for a TB-free world”. They focussed on symptoms, diagnosis, treatment and building commitment to end TB not only at the political level with Heads of State and Ministers of Health but at all levels from Mayors, Governors, parliamentarians and community leaders.
Winners were adjudged and rewarded with prizes. The students who were adjudged 1st, 2nd and 3rd are Shalini Chandel (B.A 4th sem), Talib Qayoom (B.Sc 2nd Sem) and Nafeesa Shaheen (B.Sc 6th Sem) respectively.
The Principal of the college also spoke on the occasion emphasising on essential need of discovery, diagnosis and treatment of Tubercluosis on time and stressed upon the students to spread awareness about it at all levels . He further encouraged them to organise such programmes in future as well. The programme ended with the vote of thanks by Prof. Imteyaz Ahmed from Deptt. of Zoology.
