GDC Doda celebrates the World Water Day 2018

Doda::Under the patronship of principal GDC Doda Dr. Shafqat Hussain Rafiqi, World Water Day 2018 was celebrated by the Deptt. of Zoology under the theme of "Nature for Water". A poster making competition and a symposium were organized on this occasion. 

To begin with HOD Zoology, Dr. Ajaz A. Wani delivered an introductory speech which was followed by a poster making competition and symposium. Around thirty students participated and highlighted the current year's theme of  "Nature for Water". They also emphasised on strategies to explore nature based solutions to the water challanges we face in the 21st century. Winners were adjudged and rewarded with prizes. The students who were adjudged 1st, 2nd and 3rd are Irfan Zargar (B.A 4th sem), Irshad Ahmed (B.Sc 6th Sem) and Imtiaz Ahmed (B.A 6th Sem) in Poster Making Competition whereas Mubashir Shafi ( B.Sc 4th Sem), Ashfaq Hussain (B.Sc 4th Sem) and Idrees Ahmed (B.Sc 2nd Sem) in Symposium respectively. The third prize in Symposium was shared by Idrees Ahmed (B.A 2nd Sem). 

Dr Anayat Ullah Wani Nadwi Assistant Professor in Arabic also shared  relevant views in the light of the theme. 

The Principal of the college spoke on the essential need of water conservation and stressed upon the students to use water judiciously. He further encouraged them to organise such programmes in future as well

Doda Boy Gazi Bashir Wani Awarded Gold Medal By Kashmir University. BY ABID PAMPORI Doda::  Gazi Bashir Wani S/O Bashir Ahmed Wani ,Shakeela Begum of Ghat village in Doda district has been awarded  gold medal  at the  convocation of Kashmir University  today. He was the topper from Central University Kashmir in mathematics and got first position by securing 93 % marks in the year 2015-16. Relatives and friendshave congratulated Mr Gazi and his family on this grand success.Majid Ali waniand Naseera Akthar from Ghat have expressed joy and happiness  and conveyed their best wishes and congratulations to him.
