MLA Doda Inaugurates 3rd Doda Warriors Cricket C,ship

Doda ; February 19 Member Legislative Assembly Doda Shakti Raj Parihar inaugurated the 3rd Doda Warriors Cricket Cup at sports stadium Doda on Monday here.

The District level tournament was organised by Doda Warriors Sports Club a Non-Government Organization and sponsered by Communication and Capacity Development Unit PHE and I&FC Department Doda.

The tournament is being organised in three phases under 14,17 and 19. In this tournament atleast 24 locals teams of Doda districts participated. The main motive of organising this tournament is to provide a platform to the intrested youth  in the sports to show their talent and to boost the sports men of this remote district and keep young generation away from antisocial activities.

Speaking on this occasion, MLA Doda appreciated the Doda Warrior Club for organizing such event. He said these type of event would provide a requisite platform to the budding of talent of Doda district. He also congratulates to the whole  organizing team. He further said that, other pending work of stadium will be statred with in a days and the one crore funds are available for this work.

The inaugural match was played  between Shaheen Stars Vs Sky Lark under 14. Sky Lark won the toss and elected to bat first and set a target of 131 runs for the loss of 3 wickets.
In replying, Shaheen Stars makes only 68 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in all overs and Sky Lark won the match with 63 runs.
Maneet of sky lark was declared as Man of the Match fir his best performance who was given prize by chief guest.

2nd Match was played between Cade Super Kings Vs Iqra Iquitors. Cade Super Kings won the toss and elected to ball first, Iqra Iquitors set a total target 92 runs for loosing 3 wickets. In reply, Cade Super Kings managed to chase the target fir loosing 1 wicket. Ayan of Cade Super Kings scored 71 runs in 23 balls was declared as Man of the Match.

DDC Doda Bhawani Rakwal, SSP Doda Mohd Shabir, ASP Hqrs Vinay Kumar, DySP Hqrs Iftkhar Ahmed, ACD Akther Qazi, Army officer, Administration Officers and large number of spectators were present on the occasion.

BY ABID PAMPORI Doda::  Gazi Bashir Wani S/O Bashir Ahmed Wani ,Shakeela Begum of Ghat village in Doda district has been awarded  gold medal  at the  convocation of Kashmir University  today. He was the topper from Central University Kashmir in mathematics and got first position by securing 93 % marks in the year 2015-16.
