Discrimination by J&K AACL Sub Office Doda

Doda::The working of Jammu and Kashmir   Academy of Art Culture and Languages sub office Doda has come under criticism for ignoring the persons interested in art and culture in Doda district. 

    

The matter came to light when on most of the local artists raised their concern towards the attitude of the concerned culture authorities at Doda.

  

The artists unanimously alleged that on 28th of January 2018 the academy had organized an 'Urdu Mushaira 'at Town Hall Doda but none of them had even a bit of information regarding the program. It is evident from the pictures taken in the Town Hall that there were only some selected participants and the audience were also few. 

     

Reacting to this Fareed Ahmed Zargar a local writer and poet said that the concerned officials always ignore the people having keen interest in art and culture. He said that various programs are being organized by the sub office Doda but the artists are invited on pick and choose basis. 

    

Prominent columnist and social activist Mr Ishtiaq Ahmed Dev also alleged mismanagement and favouritism being practised by the concerned authorities in JKAACL sub office Doda. He said that it is unfortunate that instead of providing opportunity and encouragement to the young minds the academy is ignoring the artists.

     

Fareed Ahmed Naik president DRYWA also criticised and condemned the callous attitude of the culture authorities towards the young artists of Doda. He said that the district administration and the concerned higher authorities in the Academy of Art Culture and Languages should take stern action in this regard.
