GDC Doda carried out a massive cleanliness cum awareness drive at District Hospital Doda.

Doda::Under the auspices of hon'ble Prime Minister's call of Swachh Bharat Mission to attain clean and green India by making the country free of garbage, filth and litter NSS Unit of GDC Doda carried out a massive cleanliness cum awareness drive at District Hospital Doda. The event was organised under the supervision of Dr Shafqat Hussain Rafiqi Principal Govt Degree College Doda. A group of 48 volunteers led by NSS programme officer Prof Bashir Ahmed were accompanied by Dr Jamsheed Ahmad and Dr Sarvjeet Singh. The students were divided into small groups and were deputed to various wards and departments of the hospital. They cleaned all the drains and lawns of the hospital premises with great zeal and enthusiasm. One group of students had a bed to bed visit of the different wards where they interacted with the patients and attendants and made them aware about the need of hygiene and sanitation. The students stressed upon them to use different dust bins for bio-medical, domestic and hospital waste. After the cleanliness drive the students were led to the college where refreshment was served to them. The NSS programme officer Prof Bashir Ahmed thanked the principal and faculty of the college for motivation. He further thanked the Medical Superintendent and Sanitary Inspector District Hospital Doda.

BY ABID PAMPORI Doda::  Gazi Bashir Wani S/O Bashir Ahmed Wani ,Shakeela Begum of Ghat village in Doda district has been awarded  gold medal  at the  convocation of Kashmir University  today. He was the topper from Central University Kashmir in mathematics and got first position by securing 93 % marks in the year 2015-16.
