DDC Doda listens to people’s issues at Goha Marmat

DODA, SEPTEMBER 27: Deputy Commissioner Doda Bhawani Rakwal today called for prompt redress of public grievances at their doorsteps and effective implementation of government schemes for public welfare and overall development of the district.
The DC was speaking at Public grievance redress camp convened here at Goha Village in Marmat area. The district and sectoral officers of all line departments were also present on the occasion.
The local people and adjoining areas gathered and highlighted their problems which were redressed by passing on spot directions to the district officers.
The people of the area apprised the DDC about various demands including maintenance of roads, additional SRTC buses on the route, adequate staff in tehsil Office, augmentation of water and power infrastructure, besides upgradation of PHC to New type PHC with basic facilities of modern healthcare.
The people further demanded the upgradation of high schools to the level of Higher secondary and requested the DC to expedite the pending work of a receiving station at Goha. They also projected the need of an ambulance for shifting patients to higher care centres.
They further demanded for connecting the Bari road to Goha and Dharanga to Rota for facilitating students and other people coming to tehsil headquarter.
The DDC directed the district officers to remain in contact with the people, pay regular visits to them and organize camps in the area to generate awareness and mitigate their genuine concerns at their doorstep in shortest possible time
While briefing the gathering, the DDC informed about various developmental initiatives taken by the government and asked the people to come forward for participatory planning. He said the Govt. of India has sanctioned the Sudh Mahadev Marmat tunnel which will act as an alternate source of connectivity to the Chenab valley.
It was impressed upon the Education department to rationalise the staff available whereas CMO Doda was asked to arrange a dentist urgently as demanded by the public.
Deputy Commissioner appealed to the general furnish a list of works and project in gram sabhas so that the works can be taken up and tangible results are achieved for welfare of masses.
On the issue of mysterious braid chopping incidents in the area, Deputy Commissioner said that Section 144 has been imposed and the strangers need to get themselves compulsorily registered with the local police station before entering any part of the district. He informed the incidents have been drastically decreased in recent days, with no case reported in last three days.
The team off officers present were ACR Tariq Hussian Naik, ACD Akhter Qazi, CPO Yoginder Katoch, Xen R&B Doda & Bhaderwah, Xen PDD, CMO, CEO, ARTO and other officers of district administration.
