Demands promotion of sports in Doda region.

DODA : People's Democratic Party District president Doda Shahab ul Haque called on secretary J&K Sports Council Waheed Parra and put forth several sports related demands pertaining to Doda.

Shahab apprised the secretary that the sports stadium Doda is yet to complete and it requires more funds and infrastructure. He also demanded to create infrastructure in several far flung areas of Doda to promote the sports spirit among the rural youth. Shahab told the secretary that there is lot of potential in the rural belt of Doda but there is need of exposure and guidance. He also demanded that special coaching camps and tournaments be organised in Doda region to provide better platform for the youth to display their talent.

Secretary sports council Mr. Waheed Parra gave a patient hearing and assured the PDP District President of every possible help to promote the sports in the mountainous district Doda.

BY ABID PAMPORI Doda::  Gazi Bashir Wani S/O Bashir Ahmed Wani ,Shakeela Begum of Ghat village in Doda district has been awarded  gold medal  at the  convocation of Kashmir University  today. He was the topper from Central University Kashmir in mathematics and got first position by securing 93 % marks in the year 2015-16.
