Doda::Government Higher Secondary School, Gundna in mountainous Doda district is facing an acute shortage of teaching staff, infrastructure and basic amenities.

Mukesh Parihar National Council Member said that the condition of Government Higher Secondary School Gundna the worst among all schools.

He said they were receiving complaints from every corner of Doda district where students were suffering due to shortage of teaching staff, classrooms, mid-day meal and others basic amenities.

“Government Higher Secondary School Gundna has two teachers, whereas there are 14 sanctioned posts. Most of the times the students sit idle in their classrooms due to lack of teaching staff” Parihar added.

He alleged that the Chief Education Officer Doda is busy in transfers only and the education system in Doda district was in a bad shape. He said in many schools students were forced to study in open due to unavailability of classrooms.

“On the one hand the authorities are making tall claims regarding the improvement in the education system, while on the other hand there is no transparent policy to meet the deficiency of staff in government schools” he added.

He urged the coalition government and the CEO Doda to take necessary measures to fill the vacant posts of teaching staff and provide basic amenities in schools.

  1. I want to apply for the job of Education / physical education teacher here but no notification is published regarding shortage of staff. Its very sad moment for the people of Gundna that they demand water tanks and other stuff for there daily needs and thia type of demand is never put forward in anywhere.
