Funds Worth Lakhs Misused by RDD

Doda:: Funds worth several lakhs meant for  the construction of school building at various high school Koti have been misused by the Rural Development Department  Doda during the year 2011-12 to 2013-14.

It is very unfortunate that there is acute shortage of accommodation in government schools in the rural areas of Doda district and the funds meant for the construction of such buildings are being misused by the concerned executing agencies. It has surfaced that during the annual plan for the year 2013-14 funds   amounting to rupees 10.73 lacs were released by the education department under major head 2202 and minor head Secondary Education the same were placed at the disposal of ACD Doda as directed by the then deputy commissioner Doda vide Order No 241 of 2013 dated 12.11.2013 . The funds were to be utilized for construction of school buildings at various high schools including  HS Koti, The funds were in addition to already allotted amounting to 10.73 lacs out of which rupees 3.40 lacs were allocated for school building at high school Koti during the year  2013-14.
  
Despite the availability of adequate amount the school building at Government High school Koti has not been completed till date .

The locals of Koti and representatives of Doda Rural Youth Welfare Association (DRYWA) NGO have strongly demanded a high level inquiry into the matter and urged the government to take stern action against the defaulter officers and officials involved in the scam.

Talking to the news agency locals of Koti who preferred to maintain unanimity said that it is high time for the government to initiate probe by the vigilance and punish those found guilty . They also appealed the Deputy Commissioner Doda to take the matter seriously and act tough against the erring.
