Doda, March 08:Warrior Cup 2018, a month long cricket tournament organised by Doda Warrior Sports club concludes today at sports stadium Doda.

           District Development Commissioner Doda Bhawani Rakwal was chief guest on the occasion. Besides ADC Doda, Superintending Engineer Hydraulic Circle Doda, Executive Engineer PHE Division Doda, AEE Fayaz Mehta, DySP Hq, DYSSO Doda and other Distt officers were also present to witness the final match.

          The tournament was organised by the Deptt of PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control in collaboration with Capacity Communication Development Unit (CCDU) with a view to create awareness regarding water conservation among general public.

          The cricket tournament was one among various events for water conservation awareness programme started by the deptt in whole state in order to take the water conservation awareness door to door.

    DDC while speaking on the occasion highlighted the issue of water conservation and requested all the participants in general and staff of PHE Deptt. Doda in particular to make the public aware of the water conservation to save the humanity.

       The tournament was played in three age categories under 14, 17 and 19. The final match of under 19 category was played between Faridia fighters and Rising star in which Rising star won the Match and bagged the tittle of warrior cup 2018.

Doda Boy Gazi Bashir Wani Awarded Gold Medal By Kashmir University. BY ABID PAMPORI Doda::  Gazi Bashir Wani S/O Bashir Ahmed Wani ,Shakeela Begum of Ghat village in Doda district has been awarded  gold medal  at the  convocation of Kashmir University  today. He was the topper from Central University Kashmir in mathematics and got first position by securing 93 % marks in the year 2015-16.
